Sing and celebrate at church's Christmas event

First Congregational Church, 256 E. Chicago St. in Elgin, invites the community to the seventh annual Community Christmas Carol Sing-Along at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20.

The place will be all decked out for Christmas. Kids from "1 to 92" and even older can enjoy singing traditional songs of the season along with some kid-friendly favorites like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Feliz Navidad." Wear your reindeer antlers or your Santa hat to add to the festivities.

The instrumentalists, including, guitar, piano, banjo, bass, drums and more will take the lead and the whole audience of carolers surrounding you will make you feel like an opera star. It's a festive way to get in the mood for the holidays.

Freewill offering will go to the church renovation fund or the Community Crisis Center.

After the singing there's homemade cookies and beverages. For details, call (847) 741-4045 or visit www.fcc-elgin.org.

There is free parking in the municipal parking structure at Chicago and Spring streets and in the municipal lot at Geneva Street and Highland Avenue.
