Des Plaines dance troupe performs Friday, Saturday

Artistry in Motion, the resident dance company of the Des Plaines Park District, will present the Winter Spectacular 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, in the Prairie Lakes Theater, 515 E. Thacker St. Titled "Holiday Memories," it will feature several dance numbers performed to well-known Disney hits.

Children are invited to make arts and crafts with the Artistry in Motion elves, have their faces painted, and have their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. New for 2014 are special appearances by Buddy the Elf and Elsa from Disney's Frozen. Activities begin one hour before the performance begins and will be available during intermission.

Artistry in Motion includes an eclectic mix of jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, modern, and hip hop styles.

Tickets can be purchased at www.DPParks.org and at the door for $5-$8.
