Believe Project: $100 to help woman with small pocketbook, big heart

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Megan Schultz of Itasca.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

“The person most worthy of this award is a family member of mine. Due to a mental illness, she now lives in a supported living home where she lives on a dollar a day. Yet, she is the one who always gives her spare change to homeless people and the one who sends a random candy bar in the mail because she knows it's my favorite. She puts everyone else's needs above her own and would do anything to ensure her family, and even strangers, are happy. She has the biggest heart in the world and I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award than her.”

• The Believe Project will award $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use $100 to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
