Sign up for Literacy Connection's McHenry County Human Race 5k

Grab those running shoes! Want to follow through on your New Year's resolution to get fit? Looking for a goal race for that Couch to 5k program? Looking for a new 5K personal record time? Not a runner? Walkers are welcome too.

Registration is now open for The Literacy Connection's McHenry County Human Race 5K on April 26, 2015 at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Race start is 8 a.m.

Sign up now and think of spring … think of feeling healthy … think of in return you're helping adults in your own community improve their quality of life. A percentage of your registration fee goes directly toward funding our literacy programs.

The Literacy Connection, which is celebrating 30 years in 2014, serves 16 northwest suburban Chicago communities including Algonquin, Bartlett, Carpentersville, Cary, Elgin, South Elgin, East Dundee, West Dundee, Gilberts, Hanover Park, Hampshire, Hoffman Estates, Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Streamwood, and Schaumburg. The agency provides customized one-on-one adult tutoring, English conversation groups, and family literacy programs.
