Authorities release photo of Cary bank robbery suspect

Authorities have released a photo of the suspect they say robbed a Cary bank just before closing Monday.

Cary police received a call at 5:53 p.m. of a robbery at Fifth Third Bank, 750 Northwest Highway, police said.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black man, roughly 5 foot 8 inches tall and about 25 years old with a thin build. He was wearing thick-rimmed glasses, a dark-colored pullover shirt and at one point wore a Chicago Bears knit cap, authorities said.

The man entered the bank, demanded money and was given an undisclosed amount. He was last seen leaving the bank on foot, police said.

No weapon was used in the robbery and there were no injuries reported, FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde said.
