Health insurers need more media scrutiny

Your article stating that health insurance rates are escalating had a very misleading headline. The headline read, "Facing health law hikes, consumers mull options." Focusing on the law rather than the fact that insurance companies are continuing to raise rates is, in my opinion, misleading. There has been too much focus on the law and not nearly as much focus on the actions of the insurance companies.

The law came about primarily because of the practices of insurance companies, which excluded many people primarily for "pre-existing conditions." They have tried mightily to help demonize the law and, despite enrolling millions of new users, continue to increase rates and copays.

I urge you to use more rigorous editing in the use of headlines such as this one and to focus more on the insurance company practices.
