Believe Project: $100 to teach young women to pay it forward

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Lenna Scott of Buffalo Grove.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"My daughter is part of the Starlights Synchronized Skating Teams. The Starlights regularly give back to the community through food donations at their exhibitions, Toys for Tots drives, awareness events for Breast Cancer, etc. If I were to receive the $100, I would challenge the nine teams that make up the Starlights to increase that $100 to a larger amount and help teach young women the power of giving. The $100 would be a start toward something much larger. These young Stewards of Love would begin to understand what the idea of paying it forward means."

• The Believe Project will award $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use $100 to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
