Chicago police horse replicas put up for sale

The life-size, fiberglass replicas of Chicago's mounted patrol-unit horses have gone on sale.

A live and online auction Wednesday in Chicago was intended to sell more than a dozen of the painted horse statues. The money raised goes into The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation to support families of officers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

Regional, national and even some international artists painted dozens of the Horses of Honor. Business sponsored the public art campaign and the replicas were placed at different locations around Chicago.
