Candy Cane Classic basketball tournament to be held this week at Saint Alphonsus Liguori in Prospect Heights
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas - even on the basketball court. The sixth grade girls' basketball team at Saint Alphonsus Liguori School in Prospect Heights will host the Candy Cane Classic basketball tournament this Thursday through Saturday. The ten-team tourney is a popular destination for players from area Catholic schools. Festivities begin Thursday night at 5 p.m. with holiday music, candy canes, hot chocolate, cupcakes and a bake sale. Decorated basketballs will also be presented to each team as a token for participating in tournament. All proceeds will benefit the Saint Alphonsus Athletic Club.
