Vero Voce students to present 'Ceremony of Carols'

Vero Voce Theater and School of Performing Arts will feature Benjamin Britten's "Ceremony of Carols," sung by the Vero Voce Chorale and accompanied by Richard Trost, pianist.

Singers chosen to participate in the chorale study voice privately at Vero Voce and are selected based on vocal technique and sight singing abilities. Chorale members include Melissa Bronski of Big Rock, Riley Brutto, Lauren Freas, Katelyn Jassoy, Miranda Keigher, Erin Kingseed, Amanda Sallmann and Keeley Sherman, all of St. Charles; Kayla Bussert and Ryan Bussert of South Elgin, Dan Keller of Aurora, Abageal Phelan of Geneva, and Maisie Sweeney and Natalie Sweeney, both of Batavia.

The highlights of the evening will include solos by several of Vero Voce's staff including sopranos Dawn Harkins and Melissa Pagano-Arndt, Lila Chavez on flute, Daniel Eastwood on percussion, and Andrew Schlinder on saxophone.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6, at Vero Voce, 951 State Ave., Suite F, St. Charles. Tickets are $10 general admission and can be purchased online at verovoce.com or by calling (630) 584-0139.

Vero Voce Theater was established in 2012 drawing some of the best nonequity actors in Chicago and the western suburbs. The versatile 100-seat theater space allows many different configurations and creativity is aided by the use of projected images.
