Enjoy seasonal music at annual Steeple Walk

As part of the popular weekend in Geneva that begins each year's Christmas season, the Steeple Walk returns from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. Now in its sixth year sponsored by the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission, it features a variety of seasonal music concerts at four Geneva churches, all within walking distance.

The Orion Ensemble, recognized for 20 years as one of Chicago's finest chamber music groups, will perform at Geneva Lutheran Church on Third Street.

The Anima Youth Chorus of Glen Ellyn, a renowned youth choral organization that has performed locally, nationally and internationally, will appear at the United Methodist Church on Hamilton and Second streets.

The First Church of Christ, Scientist on Second and James streets, will host a duet of guitarist Quentin Dover and pianist Rosemary Schroeder.

Opposite, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva on Second Street welcomes Vox Gloria, a distinguished a cappella women's choir from the Geneva United Methodist Church.

Two audience groups attend 20-minute concerts played simultaneously at the Methodist and Lutheran churches, and change places. They then move to the last performances in the Unitarian and Christian Science churches opposite each other on Second Street. Guides lead each group.

Tickets cost $12 and are on sale at the churches, at the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, CIRCA and through PayPal.

The Steeple Walk Committee is made up of Gail Tattersfield, Linda Kopec, Amy Steenson, Kent Gallagher and Linda Valentine.
