Prospect High students lead community Hour of Code

Prospect High School will host a workshop that helps children and parents learn the basics of computer coding.

The community "Hour of Code" event aims to demystify coding while nurturing problem-solving, critical-thinking skills, logic and creativity. The workshop will provide parents and children (kindergarten and up) with an opportunity to sit side-by-side with Prospect students in the school's computer labs while working through fun tutorials. The activities will allow the participants to modify and create games and other programs.

The workshop, which falls on Computer Science Education Week, will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10. No prior experience is necessary.

There is no cost to attend the event, which will be held at Prospect High School, 801 W. Kensington Road, in Mount Prospect. Please register at www. tinyurl.com/PHSHourOfCode.
