No injuries in Crystal Lake accident early Monday

No one was injured in a traffic crash on Route 14 at Lucas Road in Crystal Lake early Monday, authorities said.

Dan Dziewior of the Crystal Lake Police Department said a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign when traveling southwest on Lucas Road at 6:17 a.m. The vehicle was hit by a second car traveling southeast on Route 14 when it rolled into the intersection.

The crash caused both cars to veer off the roadway, Dziewior said. One of them hit a speed limit sign and a bank of trees, he said.

Both drivers declined to be taken to a hospital, he said.

Both were towed from the scene, he said. The accident remains under investigation.
