Pasquale's officially open in E. Dundee

Members of the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce donned gloves in the cold blue air as Pasquale's restaurant celebrated its grand opening Monday in downtown East Dundee.

Robert "Buzz" Doyle and Patrick Maggi also opened Blues BBQ and Grill in mid October, a block south of their latest eatery at 310 River Road.

"We needed this type of thing right in the middle of downtown," said Village President Lael Miller.

Pasquale's, an Italian eatery, will feature a menu that includes traditional hand-tossed pizzas, Italian sandwiches, subs and salads. Pasquale's specialty pizzas include a hand-tossed "Gorgonzola Pear" finished with balsamic glazed baby arugula; "The Goat" is a mushroom, spinach, and goat cheese delight, and another favorite is the "BBQ Chicken" with smoked Gouda, red onion and fresh cilantro.

Doyle and Maggi also opened Sweet Pop Fizz Candy Bar in May, just a couple of doors north of Pasquale's.
