Parade, Santa close Naperville's holiday weekend

Holly Trolleys dashed around town, there was free hot chocolate to be found and Naperville welcomed Santa, lights and floats on Sunday during Family Day and the Little Friends Parade of Lights in the city's downtown.

Free trolley rides started the festivities at noon, while the free hot chocolate and the day's main event - the 50-unit holiday parade - came later in the afternoon and evening. Seven decorated floats drove down Jackson Avenue, Main Street and Van Buren Avenue, and one of them even brought the big guy in red.

The annual parade hosted by Little Friends Inc., a nonprofit that helps people with autism and other developmental disabilities, capped off a weekend that also included Black Friday deals, Small Business Saturday shopping and the opening three days of the free Naper Lights display at the Naper Settlement.
