Nordstrom shooting victim dies
A Nordstrom seasonal employee who was shot Friday night at the River North store in Chicago has died from her injuries, WBBM Newsradio reported on its website.
The victim, identified as Nadia Ezaldein, 22, of Hialeah, Florida, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead around 4 p.m. Saturday, the Cook County medical examiner's office told WBBM. She had been a student at the University of Chicago but was not currently enrolled, according to a university spokesman.
Earlier Saturday, authorities identified the gunman as 31-year-old Marcus Dee, who killed himself before police arrived at the store, 55 E. Grand.
The shooting took place Friday around 8:30 p.m.
Police said the crime was a case of domestic violence and that there was no threat to other customers or employees.
The store was closed Saturday but is expected to reopen Sunday morning.
