Join Prospect Heights library's Winter Reading Program

Join the Adult/High School Winter Reading Program, "Let Your Dreams Take Flight!" which runs Monday, Dec. 15, to Saturday, Jan. 31.

Win prizes from local businesses such as Best Buy, Chicago Kite/Kite Harbor, Honeyberry Café, Ross Stores, True Value Hardware, Ultra Foods, Windy City Flyers, Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club, Blackfinn American Grille, AMC Theater, Star Cinema Grill, SmoothWindKites.com and Half Priced Books.

Raffle tickets can be earned by reading or listening to books or magazines, coming to any adult or family program, watching movies, enjoying music, exploring databases, or playing games. Stop by the Information Desk to sign up or for more information.

You can also participate remotely, so don't let the bad weather or travel plans keep you from joining. Email your finished titles to winter@phpl.info and library staff will enter raffle tickets for you.

Join the program's kick-off event, "Amelia Earhart: Living History!" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16. The library kicks off its Adult/High School Winter Reading Program with a visit from the first lady of aviation, Amelia Earhart, portrayed by historian and actress Leslie Goddard.

Set in 1937, this first-person program recounts Earhart's life, the many records she broke, her unconventional views on marriage, and her tireless work to promote aviation and opportunities for women.
