Des Plaines Garden Club Annual Fundraiser A Success
The Des Plaines Garden Club's annual November fundraiser was again a success with 137 members and guests attending the luncheon, purchasing raffle tickets and enjoying the holiday floral arrangements program by Jan Burdis, head floral designer, of Mariano's in Arlington Hts. The fundraiser was held at Manzo's Banquets in Des Plaines. Profits made will help the club to continue their Community Participation in the Arbor Day Celebration, Community Gardens, Des Plaines Historical Society, Des Plaines Public Library, Des Plaines Self-Help Closet and Food Pantry, Des Plaines Senior Center, Memorial Day Service at Lake Park, Scholarships (study of plant life) along with many contributions related to gardening.
