DePaul loses to Lehigh's 3-pointers, 86-74

Corey Schaefer had 17 points and five assists while Tim Kempton added 16 points with 11 rebounds, pushing Lehigh past DePaul 86-74 on Wednesday night.

The Mountain Hawks (1-4) shot 56.9 percent from the field, hit nine 3-pointers and went 19 of 21 on free throws. Austin Price chipped in 14 points and Justin Goldsborough added 10 as the two combined to go a perfect 9 of 9 from the floor.

Lehigh used an early 13-2 run fueled by Schaefer's 3-pointer and a pair of baskets from Goldsborough to lead 23-9 at the midway mark in the first half. A jumper from Kempton along with Goldsborough's dunk put the Mountain Hawks ahead comfortably, 69-54 with 8:37 remaining.

DePaul (2-1) had four players in double figures, but couldn't keep pace with Lehigh's efficient shooting, finishing 22 of 60 overall. Myke Henry led the Blue Demons with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
