Minor injuries, light pole toppled in Schaumburg crash
Only minor injuries were reported Wednesday morning when two vehicles collided and a light pole was knocked down at the intersection of Irving Park Road and the frontage road of the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway in Schaumburg.
An extrication unit was called to the scene of the 10:15 a.m. crash because one of the drivers — an older woman — wasn't able to open her vehicle's door on her own, Schaumburg Fire Chief David Schumann said.
She was taken to a hospital to be checked out, but the other driver refused medical treatment at the scene, authorities said.
