Original pieces available at Harper Clay Guild sale

Just in time for the holidays, Harper College student and instructor artists will showcase hundreds of original, one-of-a-kind clay pieces at the semiannual Harper Clay Guild sale. Original items will range from functional bowls, plates and mugs to garden sculptures and jewelry.

The sale - which features professional art at bargain prices - runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, and Thursday, Dec. 4, in the main concourse of the Avante Center on the College's main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine. It is open to the public. Cash and personal checks will be accepted as payment.

Harper regularly offers credit courses and Continuing Education classes in ceramics. The programs draw a variety of students of all ages from art majors to community members looking to explore and expand their creativity.
