Two injured in Monday shooting in Aurora

A Monday night shooting in Aurora seriously injured two men, officials said Tuesday.

Police responded to the area of Coral Avenue and Adobe Drive because of several 911 calls of shots fired, according to an email from Media Relations Manager Dan Ferrelli.

Police found a 20-year-old Aurora man in a yard on the 1000 block of Coral Avenue, and he had been shot in the shoulder and chest.

"Almost simultaneously," Ferrelli said in the email, an 18-year-old Aurora man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds. He had been shot in the side and back.

Police believe the shooting occurred on the 2000 block of Coral Avenue.

Two guns were recovered from yards in the area. A home in the 2000 block of Coral had also been struck by gunfire, but no one was injured.
