Police recover nearly $4,400 worth of drugs in Aurora

Aurora police recently seized nearly $4,400 worth of drugs at an Aurora home, officials said Tuesday.

Police executed a search warrant on Nov. 20 at a home on the 300 block of Melrose Avenue, according to an email from Media Relations Manager Dan Ferrelli. Authorities seized about 44 grams of suspected cocaine, 0.42 grams of suspected ecstasy, scales and other items often used to package drugs for sale. They also recovered $391 in cash. The street value of the cocaine is estimated to be about $3,852, while the value of the Ecstasy is about $547, police said.

Jose F. Marungo, 36, and Joe Rueda, 28, both live in the home. Marungo was charged with manufacturing with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and Rueda possession of a controlled substance.
