Services set for former West Chicago alderwoman

A former West Chicago alderwoman and longtime Lions Club volunteer has died.

Nanette "Nan" Connelly, 83, died Thursday.

Connelly, who represented Ward 6 on the city council, spent more than four decades on the DuPage County GOP committee. She also served as the Winfield Township clerk.

Born in Chicago in 1931, Connelly worked as a supervisor for USG Corp., a manufacturer of construction materials, according to her obituary.

She was a president of the West Chicago Lions Club, where she helped organize fundraisers for those in need of eyeglasses and hearing aids, said John Churillo, also a past president of the nonprofit group.

She is survived by her children, Terry and Caroline, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
