A MIRACLE FOR THANKSGIVING

The Nelson grandchildren and close friends are partnering with LongHorn Steakhouse to do a pancake breakfast on Saturday 11/22. This is why we are looking for a Thanksgiving miracle. Our Grandma's name is Lavina, she is 81 years old and has lived in her home for the past 50 years. She has spent her entire life helping other people. Lavina lost her husband over 15 years ago and still offers her home and any help she can to anyone who needs it. Unfortunately, because she is very proud and did not want to burden anyone, she did not let anyone know that she was severely delinquent in her property taxes even though her house is paid in full. On Thursday 11/13/14, one of the grandchildren who lives there was greeted by a Lake County Sheriff. The Sheriff served them with a final notice to vacate the property if the property taxes were not paid in full the day before thanksgiving 11/26/14. We spent the entire next day calling lawyers and lenders about what our options are and unfortunately they both had the same response. If we had known a month prior, something could have been done, but it's too late. Currently we have raised a little over $10,000 to go towards this debt. To us this is not just about the money, but having families, friends and our communities with LongHorn Steakhouse come together to give back to a woman who has asked for nothing, but spent her entire life helping others. With the support of LongHorn our family is determined to make a Thanksgiving miracle happen in what looks like an impossible situation. We would love to say that we were able to continue the life long tradition of everyone going to Grandma's house for Thanksgiving.

Please join us in making a miracle happen for Thanksgiving. Enjoy a great pancake breakfast all thanks to donations made by your community restaurants and local grocery stores. Get unlimited pancakes, bacon and sausage for just $10 and add an unlimited coffee for just $1. We will be having silent auctions and raffles for some awesome gifts donated by all by your community and local businesses. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Lavina Nelson in hopes to SAVE GRANDMA'S HOUSE.
