'Light Up the Night' at Geneva Commons

The traditional "Light Up The Night" tree lighting ceremony at Geneva Commons will take place on Friday, Nov. 28, the day after Thanksgiving, kicking off the holiday retail season.

The event will feature Santa's arrival and free horse-drawn carriage rides. On Sundays through Dec. 21, children can enjoy visits with Santa as he strolls the center or stop by the Santa Station for photo opportunities. Shoppers can take advantage of free horse-drawn carriage rides around the center on Sundays through Dec. 14.

On Black Friday, Nov. 28, free horse-drawn carriage rides will be available from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., when shoppers can board the 8-to-10-passenger carriage that runs continuously around the perimeter of the 437,000-square-foot lifestyle center. At 5:30 p.m., Santa will arrive to light the giant Christmas tree near the Bell Tower. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., he'll visit with children, giving each child a gift who greets him. Nov. 28 also marks the beginning of the Geneva Commons Holiday Gift with Purchase promotion. Shoppers who spend a total of $100 or more can redeem their store or restaurant receipts for a choice of several gift items.
