Illinois coroner exhumes woman in uncertain case

QUINCY - The Adams County coroner's office has exhumed the body of a Quincy woman amid scrutiny of the pathologist who performed the woman's inconclusive autopsy.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports Coroner Jim Keller said the body of Linda Booth was exhumed Thursday. The 50-year-old woman was found dead in her pool in 2005.

Keller says no foul play is suspected in her death. He says he wants to review the case because the autopsy done by pathologist Jessica Bowman didn't find a cause of death. Bowman also conducted the inconclusive autopsy of Cory Lovelace in 2006. Former Illinois prosecutor Curtis Lovelace was indicted in his wife's death in August.

Keller says Booth was the only other inconclusive case of Bowman's in Adams County. He says Booth's family was aware of the exhumation.
