Enter Schaumburg's Holiday House Decorating Contest

See the sights and lights throughout the Schaumburg Park District.

Travel around seeing the best and brightest holiday houses in Schaumburg while serving as a judge for the Holiday House Decorating Contest from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. This tour is for adults only. The tour will meet at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, in Schaumburg.

"The Holiday House Tour is a great way for people to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds in the comfort of a bus. We will also take a cookie and cocoa break at the Sports Center half way through the tour to warm up," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Center manager and general program supervisor.

Participants will view and judge 10 houses. Preregistration is required by 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, or until seats are full. Cost is $10 for residents and $15 for nonresidents.

If you think your house is the merriest and brightest house in town, enter the competition. Entry forms are due by 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the Community Recreation Center. Entrance into the contest is free.

Houses may be decorated any time before Thursday, Dec. 11. The first 10 houses entered will be judged. 2013 winners are not eligible to win but may still enter to be part of the tour. Your house must be within Schaumburg Park District boundaries.
