Great Lakes health topic of talk:

Great Lakes health and migratory birds is the topic of the Lake County Audubon Society meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave. Judy Beck, who has managed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's collaborative efforts since 1995, will present an in-depth program on the health of the Great Lakes and their recovery story, and will include information on fish such as sturgeon, zebra mussels and their effects, algae bloom, as well as migratory bird populations. Beck chaired the multiagency Lakes Water Quality Agreement signed by the U.S. and Canada. Before that, she was the state relations manager for the U.S. EPA regional administrator and worked in the Superfund program. All are welcome. Home school families are especially encouraged to attend.
