Lake Villa man facing child porn charges

A Lake Villa man is facing child pornography charges after a police investigation that began last month, officials announced Wednesday.
Bryan E. Helrigel, 33, of the 24800 block of W. Oak Avenue, was arrested Tuesday and charged with four felony counts of possession of child pornography.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office cybercrimes unit and the Lake County State's Attorney's Office investigated the case.
After getting a search warrant, police seized electronic devices capable of storing digital media, sheriff's police said in a news release. Further examination revealed photos and images deemed to be child pornography, police said.
Helrigel's bail was set at $500,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 9.
