Wauconda High presents 'The Addams Family' musical

Wauconda High School will present "The Addams Family" as its fall musical. Showtimes will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the school's auditorium.

It's that time of year again: time to wake the Addams Family ancestors for a night of dark reverie. This year, however, there is a new twist; young love is blooming in the Addams household.

Wednesday Addams has fallen in love with a "normal" boy, Lucas Beineke, and she begs her parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams, to give her "one normal night" when the families meet for dinner.

But can Gomez keep Wednesday's secret from his wife and eternal love? Can the Beinekes handle the outrageously odd Addams Family?

As things begin to fall apart, Fester enlists the help of the Addams Family ancestors to put things right.

Fresh off the national tour, this musical has only just been released for performance, and Wauconda High School is one of two Illinois high schools that has been granted performance rights at this time.

This show is rated "PG-13" for mild innuendo.

Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling the box office at (847) 526-6611, ext. 171.

Wauconda High School is at 555 N. Main St., Wauconda.
