Student artists recognized in Buffalo Grove

The Buffalo Grove Arts Commission and American Enterprise Bank will recognize 60 young artists who participated in the 2015 Youth Art Calendar Competition at an Awards Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at American Enterprise Bank, 600 N. Buffalo Grove Road.

The formal program, held in conjunction with the Buffalo Grove Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, will start at around 6 p.m. Some of the art work will be on display.

The 2015 Arts Calendar, printed as a public service by American Enterprise Bank, will include students' work and note the dates of arts related activities for the coming year including events sponsored by the park district, village and area schools.

"This calendar shows the amazing array of arts activities in our community and will be a great tool to raise awareness and participation at these great events," Arts Commission Chair Elliott Hartstein said, calling it a first for the community.

Copies of the calendar can be picked up at the bank and other locations. For information on where to get one, email BGarts@vbg.org.
