A win is a win is a win ...

Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears finally got it done Sunday at home, and even though it was just against the last-place Minnesota Vikings (4-6), I'll take it!

• Joakim Noah told the fans and the media to chill. Well, reading between the lines, Noah is telling everyone there are some guys on this team besides Derrick Rose who can play. Noah is the team leader and a great teammate, but if the main guy isn't right, then winning a NBA championship is unlikely.

• The Denver Broncos had some key injuries on Sunday and lost to the St. Louis Rams, 22-7. What happened to all the Peyton Manning talk about him being the best QB ever? Well, it has subsided and the team's Super Bowl chances this season don't look quite as bright.

• Wladimir Klitschko won a fight Saturday in Germany over up-and-comer Kubrat Pulev. Maybe I should say former up-and-comer.

Klitschko knocked Pulev down four times in a short five-round fight, easily winning his 21st fight in a row. Klitschko is now 63-3 with 54 knockouts. He has single handedly destroyed the American heavyweight division, formerly considered a dynasty.

In my opinion, I think he would beat Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. Larry Holmes is the only one who might have a chance because Klitschko is a devastating dynamo with a killer left hook.

• It wasn't too long ago when people were saying New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was on his last leg after a lowly 2-2 start to the regular season. Now the Pats, along with the Green Bay Packers, might be the best in the NFL after dismantling the Indianapolis Colts 42-20 and giving the New England its sixth straight victory.

• NBA commissioner Adam Silver surprised many by openly stating gambling and betting in the NBA should be legalized. Silver acknowledged the existence of betting as part of the underground and thinks it should be regulated and controlled in the legal world.

The NFL has publicly said no to betting, but we all know gambling on football is part of the American way.

• The city of Chicago and Alderman Mary O'Connor Smith dedicated a street in honor of my dear departed friend Phil Dunne last Saturday at Thatcher and Oliphant on the city's Northwest side. Thanks to all on behalf of his family and friends who made it possible.

• Is it hard to call Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw the best in the National League after he went winless in the 2014 postseason? Maybe, but what place do the Dodgers finish without him?

• My top four teams in college football: No. 4 Alabama, No. 3 Baylor, No. 2 Oregon and No. 1 Florida State.

Notre Dame has faded this season, but Brian Kelly's guys are being touted as a top five team in 2015. It just might be a huge year for Kelly.
