Report: Internal bleeding killed Carpentersville man after arrest

Nearly three months after the death of a Carpentersville man, who died a few hours after a scuffle with police, the coroner issued his report on the matter. Joshua Paul, 31, died of internal bleeding related to a "laceration of the portal vein complicated by cirrhosis of the liver due to chronic alcoholism," Kane County Coroner Rob Russell's report said. Palatine man convicted of killing teen in 2003 crash arrested in another DUI

A Palatine man who served a 7½-year prison sentence for killing a 17-year-old girl in a 2003 drunken driving crash was arrested on charges of DUI again over the weekend, police said. James T. Stitt, 34, crashed into two parked cars Saturday night, police said. He went to prison in 2004 after pleading guilty to reckless homicide in the death of Larkin High student Caitlin Weese. Former Gavin teacher turns himself in

The third teacher charged with failure to report suspected child abuse in the Gavin South Middle School molestation case turned himself in Sunday, officials said yesterday. Arrest warrants went out Thursday for John Keehan, 40, of Elgin, and two other teachers accused of failing to report the molestation of a student by, authorities say, teacher Michael Vucic, 41, of Lake Forest.
