Holiday trees go up along Batavia's Riverwalk

The city and Batavia Mainstreet are preparing for the Celebration of Lights Festival at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 30 along the Riverwalk at Houston Street and Island Avenue.

Santa arrives to help with the annual lighting of the tree. There will be hayrides, a community sing-a-long, decorated trees by local businesses and community groups, and snacks for sale. Kids can also visit with Santa and get a goody bag (while supplies last).

To keep the spirit going, there will be a Holiday Breakfast with Santa at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 6 at the Eastside Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St.

Families will be able to see Santa before the entertainment. Santa, who is scheduled to depart by 9:15 a.m., will talk to each child and give them a present.

A breakfast of pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit, coffee, juice and milk will be prepared by the Batavia Lions Club.

Kids 2 and older must be registered. Call Batavia Mainstreet at (630) 761-3528.
