Sun City Train Club hosts holiday display

The Model Railroad Club of Sun City Huntley will be running model trains this holiday season, starting Saturday, Nov. 22, through Dec. 28, in the Prairie Lodge Social Lounge. The Social Lounge is the middle entrance to the Prairie Lodge, 12880 Del Webb Blvd. in Sun City Huntley.

Weekday running times will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and weekend running times will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Note that on Christmas Eve, it will run from 10 a.m. until noon when the lodge closes for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The lodge is also closed on Thanksgiving.

Each year, the club raffles off three model train sets. This year's raffle is a Canadian Pacific Passenger Train set that includes engine, cars, track and a transformer.

The raffle will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, and winners need not be present. So bring your kids, grandkids and cameras and spend some time enjoying the season and our trains.

The Railroad Club is proud to sponsor this holiday tradition and they invite all Sun City residents, their family and friends, as well as residents of neighboring communities, to this annual tradition. The event is free but they do ask that all children be accompanied by an adult.
