Many other veterans deserve recognition, too

There are thousands of heroes in the military, most unknown, unrecognized and suffering daily from injuries physical and mental from their service to this nation. I do not understand why the Herald has chosen Tammy Duckworth to be on the front page of the paper for two days in a row. Yes, she was injured, she survived, she has made a success of her life. But she has received more attention than any other military veteran in Illinois.

I feel it is an insult to all the others that she is continuously touted as the "best" veteran out there. I am, quite frankly, tired of hearing about her. I want to hear about the others so that their sacrifices can be better appreciated.

It would appear that this is partly political because on the same page you note that she may run against Sen. Mark Kirk in the next election. Why this bias on the part of the Herald to build her up into the "best" hero ever? Please take note of all the veterans; chose someone who does not gain politically from your coverage. Be objective.
