Cicero landlord on trial for 7 murders in fire

A trial is underway of a Cicero landlord charged with murder for a Valentine's Day 2010 arson fire that killed seven people.

Lawrence Myers is charged with seven counts of murder and two counts of aggravated arson for allegedly hiring his building manager, Marion Andre Comier, to set fire to the building in Cicero to collect $250,000 insurance money.

The people killed ranged in ages 20 years and younger, including a 3-day-old infant.

A jury heard audio recordings of conversations between Myers and a former friend. He allegedly talks about the scheme, saying he would have set the fire himself "in the afternoon, just before the kids got back from school."

Jurors also heard from Bonita Robertson and her cousin, Brian Trent, who testified Meyers asked Trent to torch the building.
