Wheeling expands social media presence

In order to increase its options for communicating with its residents, the village of Wheeling has established new social media accounts for broadcasting information.

The village now has a Facebook, accessible at facebook.com/wheelingil, and a Twitter account, accessible at twitter.com/wheelingilgov.

These join the village's existing YouTube channel, at youtube.com/user/wheelingiltv, to constitute an increasingly robust media presence.

While the social media accounts will be used to inform the public about topics of interest, they won't be used as a discussion forum.

"If residents have questions or concerns, the best way to get them addressed is the old-fashioned way," village President Dean Argiris said. "Give us a call. That will help our staff get the details they need to assist with your specific issue."
