Arlington Heights

• An Arlington Heights resident was scammed out of $1,000 Nov. 7 when a man called and claimed to be a ComEd representative from the disconnection department. He demanded payment for past due bills and told the victim to purchase $1,000 in Green Dot Money Pak cards and provide the offender with the serial number from the cards.

Buffalo Grove

• Vandals wrote graffiti on an unknown date and reported Nov. 4 on the Prairie View Metra station, 2701 Main St.

• Burglars stole kitchen appliances between Oct. 14 and 27 out of a home being refurbished on the 0-100 block of University.

• Burglars stole a GPS Oct. 28 or 29 out of a vehicle on the 100 block of Lake.

• Burglars entered a home on the 0-100 block of Chestnut between Oct. 16 and 23 and stole undisclosed items.

• Vandals punctured tires between Oct. 24 and 25 on several vehicles on the 700 block of Hapsfield.

• Burglars stole a GPS between Oct. 27 and 28 out of an unlocked car on the 700 block of Old Post.

Mount Prospect

• Kimesha L. Collier, 29, of the 4200 block of West North Avenue, Chicago, Tramell Brooks, 30, of the 1900 block of Railroad Avenue, Maywood, and Timmeka Hadden, 20, of the 500 block of Prairie View Drive, Minooka, were arrested by Mount Prospect officers around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse, 2121 E. Euclid Ave., and charged with felony forgery. Prospect Heights officers had arrested them around 7:40 p.m. Sept. 25 after receiving two complaints that they had passed counterfeit $50 bills. Reports said a clerk at Jimmy John's gave one of the women change for the bill but quickly discovered that it was fake. He ran out to tell the customer, but she fled and left in a green SUV. He notified officers with the description and license plate of the vehicle, and officers found the vehicle in the parking lot at Jewel/Osco, 333 E. Euclid Ave., in Mount Prospect. According to officers, the occupants had used another counterfeit $50 bill at Jewel. Police reports said the women told officers that Brooks had recruited them in June to pass the bills, and they received $10 for each fake bill they used at stores. One store, the Target on Rand Road in Arlington Heights, noticed that the $50 was bogus and refused to take it, reports said. Other police departments are investigating whether the trio passed counterfeit bills in their towns, reports said.

• Mandy S. Neff, 34, of the 400 block of Green Oaks Court, Addison, was arrested around 2:35 p.m. Oct. 27 at Walmart in Mount Prospect Plaza, Rand and Central roads, and charged with felony retail theft. Reports said a security agent saw her take a food mixer and laptop computer. Value was estimated at $779. Her court date is Nov. 19.

• Christian A. Hernandez-Gomez, 21, of the 200 block of West Ash Street, Lombard, was arrested around 11:42 a.m. Nov. 8 at Kohl's, 1500 S. Elmhurst Road, and charged with local ordinance retail theft. Reports said a security agent saw him take a silver and gold heart pendant with chain. Value was estimated at $100.

• Hope M. Van Dyke-Rohan, 24, of the 800 block of Lucinda Avenue, DeKalb, was arrested around 2:42 p.m. Oct. 4 at Walmart in the Mount Prospect Plaza, Rand and Central roads, and charged with retail theft. Reports said a security agent saw her take five bottles of health products, two CDs, three DVDs, two free weights, and an exercise ball. Value was estimated at $174. She struggled during the arrest and was charged with two counts of resisting a peace officer, reports said.

• Thieves stole a white sports bike with black plastic rear fender between 7:50 a.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Metra depot, 11 E. Northwest Hwy. Value was estimated at $520.

• Thieves cut off the lock and stole a pink 26-inch bicycle between 8 p.m. Oct. 24 and 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at an apartment building on the 600 block of East Prospect Avenue. Loss was estimated at $170.

• A vandal hurled a piece of concrete between 5 p.m. Oct. 28 and 8 a.m. Oct. 29 that shattered a 6-foot by 5-foot double pane window at WW Logistics, 1660 Wall St. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

• Vandals scratched the front and rear driver's-side door and fender between 7 p.m. Oct. 28 and 8 a.m. Oct. 29 on a 2012 Jeep Cherokee in a driveway on the 1500 block of Mark Drive. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

• Thieves stole a designer purse with IDs, cosmetics, and diabetic supplies between 4 and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 19 from an employee at Black Cow restaurant, 912 S. Busse Road. The purse was on a shelf in a hostess stand. Value was estimated at $1,018.

• Burglars stole a puller kit, front wheel service tool kit, ball joint super set, air compressor and computer scanner between 11 p.m. Oct. 17 and 5 a.m. Oct. 18 out of a 1999 Saab in an apartment lot on the 1700 block of Chariot Court. The first three items were found in the apartment complex; only the air compressor and computer scanner were missing. Value was estimated at $670.

• Thieves stole a cellphone valued at $140 between 9 and 9:55 p.m. Oct. 21 after the owner left it in a gym bag at a basketball court in the Mount Prospect Park District RecPlex, 420 W. Dempster St.

• Thieves stole a Chicago flag and flagpole between 11 p.m. Oct. 21 and 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the side of a home on the 0-100 block of South William Street. Value was estimated at $200.

• Thieves stole a cellphone between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16 from a desk in a Melas Park office, 1400 W. Central Road. Value was estimated at $50.

• Burglars broke into a 2000 Chevrolet van between 6 p.m. Oct. 29 and 10 a.m. Oct. 30 on the 1400 block of South Busse Road and stole power drills. Loss was estimated at $500.
