Blaze destroys Oak Park bakery's truck maintenance garage
OAK PARK - A fire at a bakery's truck fleet maintenance garage left three people injured and the facility in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park destroyed.
Oak Park spokesman David Powers says those injured are believed to have been working in the garage when the fire broke out Tuesday. He says they were taken to Rush Oak Park Hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities say the garage is across the street Turano Baking Co.'s main facility in Berwyn. The fire did no damage to the bakery. However, several trucks may have been destroyed.
Turano Bakery is a family business that has produced baked goods for more than 50 years.
Authorities have yet to say what caused the fire.
