CLC offers information session on business fields

Are you interested in pursuing a business career? Information sessions on how to prepare for a variety of business careers will be offered by the College of Lake County in the coming months. CLC faculty will present information on educational requirements (associate degrees and certificates), salaries and projected demand for occupations in accounting, administrative office systems, computer information technology, hospitality and culinary management and paralegal studies.

The following business career programs will hold information sessions prior to the start of the 2015 spring semester. Unless noted, sessions will be held in the Technology Building at the CLC Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

Accounting: Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in Room T232.

Administrative Office Systems: Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. in Room S209 (Lakeshore Campus in Waukegan); Nov. 18 at 12:30 p.m. in Room T241; Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in Room T217; Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. in Room 1NG217 (Lakeshore Campus in Waukegan); Jan. 13 at 4 p.m. in Room T217. New this spring, evening courses leading to the AOS General Office Certificate will be offered at the Lakeshore Campus, where students can earn the complete certificate, which prepares them for entry-level office positions with titles such as general office clerk, general office assistant and clerk-typist. Students can earn seven credits by taking these three evening courses at Lakeshore this spring: AOS 112-003 Computer Basics/Software Applications, Monday from 6-8:55 p.m., Jan. 26 to May 11; AOS 170-002 Computer Keyboarding I, Tuesday/Thursday, Jan. 20 to March 12, 6:30-8:50 p.m.; AOS 171-002 Computer Keyboarding II, Tuesday/Thursday, March 17 to May 14, 6:30-8:50 p.m. For more information, contact Lauren LoPresti at loprest
