Manhunt for Round Lake Beach murder suspect continues, victim ID'd

Authorities continue to search for a South suburban man charged in the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old Round Lake Beach man Saturday in what police labeled a domestic incident.

Police on Monday identified the shooting victim as Anthony Robinson Jr.

On Sunday, authorities obtained a $3 million arrest warrant for Jeremy Anderson, 36, of Chicago Heights, on two counts of first-degree murder. Police said Anderson, who was last seen driving a blue, four-door Chevy Malibu with the Illinois license plate of V128881, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding his location should contact their local police department or the Round Lake Beach Police Department at (847) 270-9111.

Round Lake Beach Police Chief David Hare said authorities are being cautious on what information to release about the shooting because Anderson remains on the lam. Hare said much of what happened in the home leading up to the shooting may not be known until Anderson is caught and interviewed.

"We don't have a lot of details just yet," Hare said.

Round Lake Beach investigators are working with law enforcement in Chicago Heights and elsewhere to follow up with known associates of Anderson in an effort to learn his whereabouts, Hare added.

Robinson was found by officers at about 9:13 p.m. Saturday as they responded to reports of a shooting a at his residence. He was taken to the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A next-door neighbor, Lance Robar, said he was in the home when the shooting place but in another room. Robinson, who worked as a painter, was killed during a family get-together, Robar said.

Police did not disclose the nature of the relationship, if any, between Robinson and Anderson.
