Elgin students honored at Black Belt Extravaganza

Students from Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin were promoted by the American Kyuki-Do Federation at its annual Black Belt Extravaganza, held by the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells Nov. 7-9.

The weekend's activities included instructional and motivational seminars in addition to the examination of candidates for the rank of 1st Degree (Dan) Black Belt or higher.

Students representing Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin were:

• 1st Dan: Gavin Underhill, Joshua LaMarche, Wai Suen Chu, Reginald Madrigal, Andrew Sivoraphat, Ric Bodio, Aenoi Seydone, Lexie Seydone, Ian Pawlak, Karen Lang, Kim A. Bruhn, Gerardo Herrera, Ethan Sanderson, Wyatt Sanderson, Cory Sanderson, Fernanda Sanchez, Tina Tomschin, Jeff Tomschin, Stephen Schweikle, Noah Hall and Amani Herring.

• 2nd Dan: Grace McMahon, Tim Parcel, Noël Parcel and John Malkowski.

• 3rd Dan: Yolanda Juarez-Morales

The American Kyuki-Do Federation certifies the rank of its students. Kyuki-Di Martial Arts of Elgin and its sister organization has been helping families be the best that they can be for over 45 years.
