Vernon Area Public Library hosts mini comic con

A Superfan photo booth, a costume contest for prizes and an open gaming lounge were the highlights of Vernon Area Public Library's Mini Comic Con on Saturday in Lincolnshire.

Three special sessions were offered, including Superhero Training Academy, Superhero Cartoon Workshop and Anime/Manga Workshop. In the sessions, participants showed off their superhero power through games and crafts, learned how to draw their favorite hero and learned about Japanese anime/manga.

The event was supported in part by Dreamland Comics, First Second Books, GameStop of Vernon Hills, IDW Publishing, Quirk Books, and TOON Books.
