Mariano's holds food drive to support families in need

Mariano's Fresh Market, 678 N. York in Elmhurst, in partnership with United Community Concerns Association (UCCA), is holding a food drive from Nov. 1-30 to benefit families with children in District 205 schools.

Shoppers can purchase pre-packed bags of food for $5, $10, or $15, which will be donated to those within the community who are vulnerable and in need.

“Mariano's is pleased to assist UCCA,” said Sheila Canavan, Mariano's Merchandising Manager. “We proudly support non-profit organizations that contribute to creating strong families and communities.”

UCCA is an all-volunteer, noNprofit organization that has provided food to local residents for 36 years. Ninety-nine percent of all funds that UCCA collects are used to feed those in need. Last year, UCCA was able to provide food and food certificates to almost 300 area families.

“We're so excited to have Mariano's join us in our effort to end hunger in our community,” said Susie Sands, president of UCCA. “Their generosity will benefit many families.”
