Kick off the holiday season in Crystal Lake, escape into an underwater world in Schaumburg or journey to Oz in Lincolnshire. These are just a few of the options this weekend in the suburbs.

<h3 class="leadin">Christmas comes early: Kick off the holidays with "An Irish Christmas," featuring music, dance and storytelling Saturday at Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams St., Crystal Lake. A 3 p.m. student show is $20 for adults, $10 students. The full performance starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $32-$36. In between is an Irish Whiskey Tasting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the second floor. Tickets $25; space limited. (815) 356-9212 and rauecenter.org. 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday.</h3>

<h3 class="leadin">Cast about: The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County's Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31t St., Oak Brook, hosts its fourth annual fly-fishing show. The Early Show showcases fishing experts, demonstrations, representatives with fly-fishing equipment and free youth activities. Admission is $10 per person. Kids ages 12 and younger are free. <h3 class="leadin">'Good Times': Under the Streetlamp, featuring harmonizing former "Jersey Boys" cast members, returns with a new "Let the Good Times Roll" tour Sunday at the Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora. $45-$55. (630) 896-6666 or paramountaurora.com. 3 p.m. Sunday.</h3>
