Jaycees host Palatine pizza competition Nov. 16

Who makes the Palatine area's best pizza? The Palatine Jaycees are holding a fundraising contest later this month to find out.

More than 10 pizza restaurants that deliver to Palatine - Papa Sarverio's, Pizza Bella and Vini's Pizza among them - will be a part of the competition, which takes place from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Durty Nellie's Bar and Grill, 120 N. Smith St. in Palatine.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12 years old, and children 5 and under are free.

"Area residents will be able to vote for themselves who makes the best pizza in the area, and at the same time help the community," said Danielle Garcia, project co-chair.

The Chicago Bears game will be aired during the event, and there also will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction with great items to win. All proceeds will go to the Palatine Jaycees to help in their projects that support the community.
