Get raffle ticket for Morris-inspired quilt

Time is running out for your opportunity to win this year's Heritage Quilters' masterpiece, titled "Mostly Morris."

This homage to to the celebrated British wallpaper designer William Morris features a card trick pattern.

The botanical-themed fabrics used by our Heritage Quilters mostly are from Barbara Brackman's "William Morris" collection. She has created four collections over the past few years, each having 40 or more fabrics.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5, with all proceeds benefiting the McHenry County Historical Society & Museum.

The drawing will be at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, after a presentation by quilting expert Debra G. Henninger of Metamora. The author of "Hobo Quilts and Railroads" will talk about her book and show of more than two dozen quilts starting at 1:30 p.m. that day at the museum, 6422 Main St., Union.

The drawing follows her presentation. Winners need not be present.

Admission to the quilt lecture is $5 for those who are not members of the historical society. Members are free, but donations to offset the program's costs are welcome.
