Sheboygan standoff ends with man's arrest

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - A 21-year-old Sheboygan man has been arrested following an overnight standoff with police.

Sheboygan Press Media reports the man was taken into custody about 9 a.m. Tuesday. The standoff began about 8:30 p.m. Monday after police received calls that a 21-year-old man made comments that worried his family. Police say the man had weapons in the house.

WCCO-TV reports the man's family was able to get out of the home unharmed.

Nearby Farnsworth Middle School canceled classes Tuesday as the standoff progressed.

Sheboygan police received help from the Milwaukee Police Department in bringing the standoff to an end.
